In today's episode, we sit down with Kevin’s former classmate, Michel Bassil, to hear his journey from Lebanon to becoming a student here in Canada.
He dives into what made him successful running his practice, mentoring associates and how he’s now shaping students at the Collèges Études Ostéopathiques in Montreal.
ABOUT MICHEL
Michel graduated with a physiotherapy diploma from Lebanon and a sports physiotherapy specialty from France, he had his own practice in Lebanon working with athletes. He moved to Canada in 2001 to pursue more studies in manual therapy, but fate decided otherwise and put him in Osteopathic school at the College d'Études Ostéopathiques de Montréal, where he presented his thesis in 2008 on kids with ADHD.
He then started teaching at the school and has been teaching for the last 12 years. Michel was one of the owners at multidisciplinary clinic Kinatex West Island and now he has his own practice where he shares his time between treating and teaching.

If you’re still a little nervous or don’t quite understand, you’re going to love today's podcast. We dive in on how to build confidence in yourself and so much more...

Someone once told us to never talk Politics, Religion and most recently, Pandemics with any of our clients. Well, today we go there... and there ain’t no turning back.
Have a listen as we go back and forth between things we’ve done wrong and how we’ve managed to bridge the gap towards communication - even when you may have opposing views to those of your client.
Remember, the goal is to listen and connect.
Once you find common ground, you can begin to move the conversation towards what’s best for the client as you see fit in the moment without disregarding your integrity.
When you first listen without judgment, try to understand, then educate, empower and engage back towards their health goals... you’ll no doubt be able to navigate some stormy weather if it ever comes your way.

Kevin, Jason and Sean

In today’s episode (which newsflash... is a two-parter), we dive deep into In-House or In-line Marketing.
Remember, marketing is a tool, just like a hammer. In the hammer’s case (as with marketing), it can be used for good - to build things up or for bad - to break and destroy things.
So study marketing, read books, observe companies you love and how they market, be aware of it and use what you learn to grow your practice and spread the message of Osteopathy to your community.
To your success,
Kevin, Jason and Sean

This week we sat down with the Canadian College of Osteopathy’s former principal, Brad McCutcheon.
Over a few laughs (at Jason’s expense) Brad shares his story on how he first got into Osteopathy, then how he transitioned to teaching and later how he’s been able to pair his love for education with practice success.
Some of the highlights from the pod are:
Why entitlement might be sabotaging your success
The current state of the Osteopathic educational process
How timing, preparation and opportunity created luck when Brad was ready to jump into practice
Hope you enjoy learning as much as we did from Brad’s 28 years in the profession. He has a wealth of knowledge and a ton of useful insights to share. Enjoy!
